Why Disneyland Visitors Should Consider Calaca Mamas
Finding a good meal near Disneyland isn’t difficult. Finding one that’s both convenient and reasonably priced can be a different story.
Many visitors either stay inside the park or head into Downtown Disney where meals can quickly become expensive and time consuming. Calaca Mamas offers another option just across Harbor Boulevard.
Its location makes it easy to step away from the crowds, enjoy a full sit-down meal and return to Disneyland without dealing with parking lots, trams or lengthy walks.
First Impressions
Calaca Mamas immediately stands out with its colorful atmosphere and modern Mexican design.
The restaurant feels welcoming without being overly formal, making it a comfortable option for families, couples and groups visiting Disneyland. Indoor and outdoor seating provide flexibility depending on the weather and your dining preference.
For a restaurant located so close to the park it feels surprisingly relaxed compared to many of the busier dining options inside the resort area.

What We Ordered
During our visit we tried several menu items to get a better sense of the restaurant’s overall quality and value.
Chile Colorado ($20)
The Chili Colorado was one of the highlights from the menu.
The beef was super tender, the sauce was flavorful and the portion size was filling. It offered a solid balance between quality and value, especially considering the restaurant’s location near Disneyland.
Here’s a tiktok video I made showing off this meal.

Birria Ramen ($20)
The Birria Ramen was one of the more unique items on the menu.
Combining traditional birria flavors with ramen noodles creates a dish that stands out from the typical Mexican restaurant offerings. The broth had plenty of flavor and the portion size made it filling enough to serve as a complete meal.

Flautus De Pollo ($18)
Served as three crispy rolled chicken flautas on a bed of greens, they arrived perfectly fried and topped with crema and queso fresco. The shell had a great crunch without feeling greasy and the chicken inside was seasoned really well. It isn’t a large dish but perfect for sharing as a starter before the entree’s arrive. These were absolutely delicious!

Does the Food Justify the Price?
For a restaurant located this close to Disneyland the pricing feels reasonable.
Many entrees fall near the $20-$25 range which is comparable to many meals inside the park and or Downtown Disney. The difference is that portions are generous, the environment is less hectic and the overall experience feels more relaxed.
When convenience and portion sizes are factored in, the value becomes easier to appreciate.
Service and Overall Experience
Service during our visit was friendly and efficient.
Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, staff members were attentive and the overall atmosphere encouraged guests to slow down and enjoy their meals.
For Disneyland visitors looking to recharge before returning to the park Calaca Mamas provides a comfortable place to do exactly that.
Convenience and Validation
The level of frictionless convenience is hard to find at any other sit-down restaurants in the area.
Its location on Harbor Boulevard makes it one of the easiest off-property eateries to access from Disneyland. Guests can leave the resort area, enjoy a meal and return without adding significant travel time to their day.
Additionally, up to 3 hours of validated parking with a qualifying purchase
